Tickborne Disease InformationA variety of diseases may be spread by ticks in Minnesota. The majority of tickborne diseases result from the bite of an infected blacklegged tick (also known as the deer tick). Preventing exposure to blacklegged ticks requires diligence.

Tick Monitoring & TestingFill out a Submission Form for Tick Identification and mail it to Mn DOH tick experts. They will identify the tick and let you know what it is. By doing so, you will also help them monitor tick species that may be affecting people and animals in Minnesota.
