Poison Ivy Relief Soap
Description
Relieves itch from: Poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, bug bites, swimmers itch, and itchweed.
Approximate bar weight is 2.5 oz. Larger bars available in store.
Easy to use and stops the itch on contact! Use of this product produces excellent results when you follow our detailed instructions!
Just grab the soap, get into the shower and wash from head to toe, as you normally would. You will notice the itch is gone after soaping up! When you exit the shower, bring the bar with you. After you've towel dried your skin, simply make lather at the sink, apply the lather to the area that has visible rash, leave the lather on to dry. The lather will keep the itch away for a couple of hours, and promote faster healing. If the itch returns, repeat the lather process at the sink.
You can also choose to purchase our Poison Ivy Salve. The salve takes the place of applying lather to stop the itch and doesn't require water. Just apply to the affected area as needed. IMPORTANT: The salve does NOT replace the soap!! You MUST wash with the soap to remove the Urushiol oil. The salve is to relieve the itching only!
To prevent the rash from spreading, be sure to wash all clothing and bedsheets (and any other items) that may have come in contact with your skin or the plant. *** Skipping this step will almost certainly allow another area of your skin to develop a rash. ***
Use the soap as soon as possible after you've been exposed to poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, itchweed or swimmer's itch! The sooner you wash with the soap, the less likely a reaction will happen!!!
Facts about Poison Ivy, Poison Oak & Poison Sumac:
This plant contains an oily, resinous substance called Urushiol Oil; it's what causes allergic skin reactions. The oil is found in the flowers, leaves, stems and roots of the plants. Urushiol oil is made up of many toxic compounds found in the plant’s sap. All parts of a plant with urushiol are poisonous. This means even contact with the smoke from a burning plant can cause harmful effects. (NEVER burn these plants!!!!!)
Urushiol oil from these plants stays active for many years and can contaminate clothing, tools, pet fur, or other objects. Even our subzero temperatures in Minnesota won't kill the effects of this oil. We see people with rashes from these plants in the middle of winter, particularly those that handle firewood. The oil gets on the wood and transfers to your skin and/or clothing!

Tick-B-Gone Property Treatment
Only a few left!
Treat your yard to reduce the population of disease carrying ticks! We have purposely priced Tick-B-Gone significantly lower than other manufacturers of similar products because we WANT to reduce the tick population. We WANT these in every yard!! Protect your family and your pets safely! These are typically placed in the early spring and early fall when mice are gathering nesting materials.
This item consists of a tube (cardboard or PVC) and cotton treated with a Chrysanthemum Extract that is highly toxic to ticks. Tick-B-Gone uses the mice to carry away the treated cotton to their nesting area. (We know that the mice are the most common carriers of ticks.) When the ticks come into contact with the treated cotton or the mouse that has rolled around on the cotton, the chrysanthemum solution causes the nervous system of the tick to become overwhelmed and they die.
There have been several studies done on this process, the results have been extremely encouraging. Over an 8 year period, one such study showed an average of 93.6% reduction in tick population! NINETY THREE PERCENT!
The solution we've used is highly toxic to ticks (and some other insects) but a significantly lower toxicity to other mammals, birds and humans. If you handle the treated cotton, you *might* feel a tingling sensation. We have this packaged so that your hands should never come into contact with the cotton. We're seeing this solution being used in more and more flea and tick control products. It's also being used in outdoor bug sprays. Generally, outdoor cats and dogs will ignore the Tick-B-Gone. When properly deployed they are covered with leaf or grass litter, so you can't see them once they are placed. (So children shouldn't be able to locate them unless you've shown them the location.) We do take elaborate steps to include all of the safety information as part of the labeling.
These don't expire so if you have a small yard don't worry, You can use 2-3 tubes and save the others for your next deployment.
6 tubes will treat a 1/2 - 1 acre lot. 24 tubes are recommended for 2 - 3 acre treatment.
Package qty: 6 Tubes
Cardboard tubes are biodegradable and are meant to be left out until they are gone.
PVC tubes are meant to be refilled in spring and fall.
Refill kits are used with PVC tubes. Keep using the same tubes, just refill and place for spring and fall application.
FUN FACTS:
- Ticks become infected when they get their blood meal from mice that are carrying the bacteria. The ticks then go on to bite and infect humans and animals.
- The use of this product showed that over the 8 year study period, there was 80% tick population reduction in the first year; 100% tick population reduction in the third year; and an average of 93.6% tick population reduction over the entire 8 years.
- The extract we use is highly toxic to ticks and some other small insects. It has low toxicity to people, pets and mice. A toddler would need to ingest a pound of treated material before there would be risk of toxicity. (That's a lot of cotton to eat!!)
- The extract is derived from the dried flower heads of the Chrysanthemum plant. It naturally contains pyrethrin, which is a more refined extract than pyrethrum.
